APEC will hold senior officials' meeting Tuesday

The Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry said...the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation will hold a Senior Officials Meeting in Dailan, China, Aug. 22-24.
The Dailan meeting is designed to review the projects to be presented to the APEC summit and ministerial meeting slated to open in Shanghai in October.
The Korean delegation, headed by Deputy Trade Minister Choi Hyuk, will call for policy coordination and cooperation among APEC member countries, support for the launch of a new round of world trade negotiations and efforts to stimulate liberalization of trade and investment in the region.
The Korean side is also expected to provide a briefing on the implementation of items earlier presented by Korea such as recommendations for the establishment of a Web site for knowledge and information and strengthening of social safety nets.
