Asian Cooperation Dialogue to Open Tuesday in Seoul

The sixth Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) is set to open Tuesday in Seoul where foreign ministers and top-level officials from more than 30 Asian countries will gather.

The heads of each delegation will visit President Roh Moo-hyun Monday and attend the opening ceremony and foreign ministers' meeting Tuesday morning at the Shilla Hotel. The results of the conference will be announced at a joint news conference later that afternoon.

The members countries are expected to discuss cooperation in information technology (IT) and assess developments in 19 other fields.

The countries will also speak on entry requirements for non-member states and how to cooperatively resolve the North Korean nuclear issue.

The ACD first started in 2000 with 18 member states but now has expanded to include 30 nations.
