National soccer team coach Pim Verbeek has hinted that he may resign if the team fails to advance to the semifinals in the Asian Cup competition next month.

After the national team defeated the United Arab Emirates in the last qualifying round on Wednesday, Verbeek said he would decide on his next steps and notify the Korea Football Association (KFA).

The head coach is under a two-year contract with the KFA until the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
