South and North Korea will hold working-level military talks Friday to discuss implementation of agreements reached in their fifth high-level military talks.
The two sides will each send a three-member delegation for the talks to be held at the Peace House on the South Korean side of the truce village of Panmunjeom.
A Defense Ministry official in Seoul said Thursday that the two sides will mainly discuss ways to implement points of agreement outlined in a joint statement released after last month's high-level talks.
Last month, the two sides agreed to prevent military conflict and create a joint fishing zone in the West Sea to ease military tension and establish peace on the Korean Peninsula.
The North also demanded that commercial vessels going to and from the North's Haeju Port near the Northern Limit Line be able to pass through that demarcation line. Currently, North Korean ships have to go out of their way to avoid the line.
The two Koreas agreed to hold further consultations on such trust-building steps.
