North Claims Missile Launches are 'Normal' Military Drills

A North Korean official said Friday that Pyongyang’s recent short-range missile firings were part of its "normal military exercise" and that there was no reason for South Korea to raise any alarm.

Jong Dok-ki, vice chairman of the North's Council of National Reconciliation, told Reuters in an interview that any country was entitled to conduct military drills.

There could be more missile firings, as the North will conduct a military drill in the waters off its west coast until June 15th.
