Russian Bank to Accept N.Korean Funds

An American bank is likely to relay North Korean funds stuck in a Macau bank to a Russian bank.

A source familiar with the six-way nuclear talks said Sunday that after extensive talks, the foreign ministers of South Korea, the U.S., China and Russia have agreed to swiftly resolve the transfer dispute through measures agreed upon by all of the parties.

The source said Moscow accepted Washington's request to have a Russian bank receive 25 million dollars of North Korea's money with Banco Delta Asia, on condition that an American bank play a mediatory role.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had said last week that Moscow is willing to help resolve the dispute.

A Seoul official also said the transfer is expected to come soon.
