Gov't to Resume Flood Relief Aid to N. Korea

The government is considering the resumption of flood relief aid to North Korea.

A senior official said Wednesday that the government is mulling whether to ship ten-thousand-500 tons of rice to the communist country. The shipment was suspended soon after the North’s nuclear weapon test last October.

Meanwhile, another official said that the issue requires reviewing developments in the transfer of North Korean funds from a Macao bank and the state of inter-Korean relations, adding that related government agencies will soon hold consultations on the matter.
