Gov't to Decide on Aid after NK Nuclear Shutdown

The government has reportedly decided to provide North Korea with 50-thousand tons of heavy fuel oil after it shuts down its nuclear facilities in line with the February 13th nuclear dismantlement agreement.

Seoul also plans to decide on its delayed provision of 400-thousand tons of rice aid after watching how consultations go between International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors and Pyongyang next week.

The government’s decisions appear related to Pyongyang’s reported plans to freeze its nuclear facilities in Yongbyon by the end of next month.
