The Seoul District Court issued Friday evening warrants to arrest seven delegates to the Liberation Day celebrations in Pyongyang last week, as sought by the prosecution.
Accordingly, the prosecution arrested and jailed them all for their pro-North Korean remarks and acts in violation of the National Security Law during their stay in the North.
Judge Han Joo-han of the court said the warrants had been issued for fear that the accused may escape and destroy evidence and because the prosecution's charges warrant their arrest.
The seven were Professor Kang Jeong-su of Dongguk University and six senior members of the Pan-National Alliance for Reunification of the Fatherland, who were all were charged with violating the law by praising North Korea and making unauthorized contacts with North Korean officials.
