N.Korea Seeking Six-Way Talks in July

North Korea says it will seek to resume the stalled six-party talks early next month and a foreign ministerial meeting in early August.

A North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman said Sunday that Pyongyang and Washington have agreed to consider a meeting of the chief delegates of the six-way talks in early July and a six-party foreign ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in early August in the Philippines.

The two sides are known to be cooperating to achieve the goals.

The spokesman said they also agreed to discuss allowing the North to make freer transactions in the international financial system.

He also called discussions between chief U.S. nuclear negotiator Christopher Hill and North Korean counterpart Kim Kye-kwan very comprehensive and productive.
