The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency is seeking to hold an investor relations session on the Gaesong Industrial Complex targeting American companies, amid positive signs of rapid improvement in relations between North Korea and the U.S.
An official said Sunday that the agency has asked the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea to hold such a presentation together to prepare for potential progress in Pyongyang-Washington relations.
About 30 businessmen from foreign countries other than the U.S. have visited the industrial park, including those from Germany's Bosch and Siemens and Britain's HSBC.
The official said foreign companies could advance into the complex early next year if the North Korean nuclear standoff is settled and relations between Pyongyang and Washington improve.
