NK Denies SK's Sea Border in West Sea

North Korea refuses to recognize the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the West Sea, demanding that what it calls a "fair" maritime border line be drawn instead.

The North’s Korean Central Broadcasting Station and Pyongyang Broadcasting Station carried a commentary on the matter as they marked the 57th anniversary of the start of the Korean War on Monday.

In the commentary, Pyongyang warned that the next military clash in the West Sea could turn into an all-out war.

The broadcasters claimed that the NLL was not based on any bilateral agreement and thus the North did not have any obligation to recognize it.

They went on to say that it would respond to any acts of provocation in the West Sea with much greater power than the previous clash in 2002.
