Vietnam says President Luoung's visit to Korea successful

The Vietnamese government said Sunday that President Tran Duc Luong's visit to South Korea has successfully helped bring the relationship between the two countries to a higher level in the 21st century.
The state-run Vietnam News Agency also reported quoting President Luong that the leaders of the two countries pledged to enhance cooperation in the interest of the two peoples and for peace, cooperation, development, and prosperity in the Asian-Pacific region and the world as a whole.
The news agency quoted Luong as saying that in particular, the four-day visit carries a significant meaning in that the two countries forged a new partnership, overcoming their "painful past."
Korea fought alongside with the United States in the Vietnam War. The report said...in a visit to Hyundai Heavy Industries on the last day of his Korea visit, Luoung praised Hyundai's contribution to Vietnam and asked Korea's industrial giant to contribute more to boosting the two countries' economic, trade, and investment cooperation.
