South and North Korea have decided to hold a sixth round of high-level military talks at the end of the month.
Working-level officials from the two sides agreed during talks on the northern side of the Panmunjeom truce village Tuesday to open the general-level discussions between July 24th and 26th.
The two sides also decided to hold another round of working-level talks on Monday to discuss preparations for the inter-Korean talks.
The recent working-level discussions ended without much progress outside of setting a date for the military talks.
No substantial agreements were produced on the key inter-Korean cooperation projects or military safety guarantees for inter-Korean railways that were proposed by the South.
Meanwhile, the North’s delegation urged the South to prohibit civic groups from distributing placards criticizing the North Korean government and presented a proposal on guaranteeing security for inter-Korean economic cooperation projects.
