Brazil says Samsung to install hard disk factory

Samsung Electronics is going to install the first hard disk factory in Brazil with 39 million U.S. dollars in investments.
An official at the multiministerial chamber of exports Camex in Brazilia said the decision to set up shop in Brazil is due in part to the reduction of import taxes on three components needed for the factory.
Samsung plans to produce four million hard disks per year, enough to meet domestic needs and still export some. Last year, Brazil imported one hundred-60 million dollars in hard disks..
