The National Intelligence Service says it believes North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s health problems are not serious enough to impair his ability to function.

In a news release on Thursday, the service said that Kim does have health problems including heart disease but his condition is not so serious.

Various media outlets have speculated that Kim may have serious health problems while reporting on his meeting last week with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
