Two Koreas Hold Working-Level Military Talks

The two Koreas will begin working-level military talks Monday on the southern side of the Panmunjeom truce village to discuss drawing up a joint-fishing zone and measures to reduce military tension in the West Sea.

An official from the Defense Ministry said the two sides will focus on settling a final joint agreement regarding the two issues.

South Korea is said to have expressed the desire to establish a joint fishing zone above the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the West Sea, while North Korea insists on one that lies south of the line.

The two sides will also discuss the date and venue for the next round of general-level military talks, most likely to come next week.
