Inter-Korean Military Talks to Open Tuesday

The sixth round of inter-Korean general-level military talks will open Tuesday to discuss the prevention of naval skirmishes in the West Sea.

During talks at the Peace House located on the South Korean side of the truce village of Panmunjeom, the two sides will discuss the formation of shared fishing zones in the West Sea.

Also on the agenda are the opening of cross-border railways, flood prevention of the Imjin River that flows southward from the North, and the North's request to allow its commercial vessels to use South Korean waters to and from Haeju port located on the North's west coast.

During the previous five rounds of talks the two sides made little progress, as Pyongyang insisted on changing the Northern Limit Line in the West Sea.
