'6-Party Energy Meeting to be Held at Panmunjeom'

Parties to the six-party nuclear talks, early next month, will hold a working group meeting at the truce village of Panmunjeom to discuss energy aid promised to North Korea in line with the February 13th nuclear agreement.

A Seoul official said Friday, that a working group meeting will likely be take place around August seventh at the Peace House on the South Korean side of the military demarcation line. The official also noted that Pyongyang's response to the location of the talks was positive.

It will be the first time chief negotiators of the six nations will hold a meeting on the Korean Peninsula.

In the proposed meeting, negotiators are expected to discuss schedules and details of economic and energy aid to be provided in return for the North’s implementation of second-stage nuclear disarmament protocols.
