A technical support delegation will visit light industry plants in North Korea from Tuesday as part of an inter-Korean technology cooperation program.

During their five-day visit, the ten-member team of industry experts and Unification Ministry officials will visit textile, shoe and soap factories in and around Pyongyang which will produce goods using materials provided by Seoul.

The visiting delegation will discuss technical concerns with their North Korean counterparts.

Late last month, South Korea sent its first batch of 500 tons of polyester to the North out of the total 80 million dollars' worth it promised to provide this year.

The delegation is led by the chairman of the Inter-Korean Cooperation Support Association, Park Heung-ryol.
