Koreas to Discuss Summit Preparations Next Week

South and North Korean officials will meet in the North’s border city of Gaesong next week to discuss preparations for the second inter-Korean summit.

Vice minister-level officials are expected to share views on the size of the delegation for the summit talks, the format of the discussions and protocol as well as security.

The two sides will also discuss details on media coverage of the event and whether to dispatch an advance team ahead of the summit talks that will run for three days from August 28th.

In Seoul, the government decided to establish a summit preparation committee headed by presidential Chief of Staff Moon Jae-in.

The unification minister and vice unification minister will also head a separate special task force and a secretariat respectively to prepare for the upcoming summit.
