Pres. Committee Discusses Summit Prep

A steering committee at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae has discussed preparation for the second inter-Korean summit slated for August 28th.

The inaugural meeting was chaired by Chief of Staff Moon Jae-in, and is known to have discussed coordination of all summit issues, including agenda, delegation size, transportation procedures, protocol and security for President Roh Moo-hyun.

Moon also held a task force meeting Saturday on summit preparation.

Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung chaired another meeting on a working-level contact in Kaesong and other summit matters. An official said a response from Pyongyang on the dialogue channel should come Monday.

The summit steering committee will examine what has been discussed by the Unification Ministry team and the Cheong Wa Dae task force before making final proposals to North Korea.
