Intelligence Chief Silent on Summit Agenda

National Intelligence Service Director Kim Man-bok reportedly says he cannot confirm at the moment that the North Korean nuclear issue will be on the agenda for the upcoming inter-Korean summit in Pyongyang.

Members of the National Assembly’s intelligence committee quoted Kim as making the remarks Monday during a closed session of the panel.

With regard to the summit venue, Kim reportedly said that North Korea's opposition to holding the meeting in Seoul led to the agreement to meet in Pyongyang, adding that the government originally had a third place in mind other than Seoul.

The committee members also said that the spy chief dismissed speculation that the two Koreas made a secret deal to realize the inter-Korean summt talks.
