NK to Decide Summit Travel Route Issue

The presidential office says it’s hard for Seoul to determine whether the latest flood damage in North Korea will make it difficult for President Roh Moo-hyun to travel by land for the upcoming inter-Korean summit.

Presidential Spokesman Cheon Ho-seon said Monday that it is up to Pyongyang to decide.

Cheon also said that the issue will likely be discussed Tuesday during inter-Korean working-level talks in Gaesong to prepare for the summit.

On the size of Mr. Roh’s entourage, the spokesman expected that he would be accompanied by at least the same number of people as former President Kim Dae-jung during his visit to
Pyongyang in 2000 for the first inter-Korean summit talks.
