Koreas Open Prep. Talks for Summit Meeting

The two Koreas open talks Tuesday in the North Korean city of Gaesong to prepare for the upcoming inter-Korean summit.

The South Korean delegation, led by Vice Unification Minister Lee Kwan-se, will meet with its North Korean counterpart at 10 a.m. in a Gaesong hotel.

The South will discuss the size and schedule of President Roh Moo-hyun’s entourage, ways of transportation, and the dispatch of an advance team.

The two sides will also discuss protocol and security for President Roh Moo-hyun, communication and media coverage.

Seoul is expected to propose a delegation larger than the size of the 180-member-group that visited Pyongyang in 2000 and suggest traveling by land.
