Chief Nuke Envoy Leaves for 6-Way Working Group Talks

South Korea's chief nuclear envoy Chun Yung-woo says that the goal of the second six-way working group meeting on denuclearization is to set the deadline for making North Korea disable and report all of its nuclear programs.

Leaving for the Chinese city of Shenyang where the denuclearization working group meeting will be held from Thursday to Friday, the South Korean chief nuclear negotiator said that getting a clear picture on the North’s plan for nuclear disablement is also important.

He said the working group talks will see progress if North Korea offers a deadline for nuclear disablement.

Chun also stressed that progress in bilateral talks between Washington and Pyongyang over the normalization of U.S.-North Korea ties will be important in persuading the North to implement the second-phase measures of the denuclearization agreement made in February.
