Working Group to Discuss UEP

Nuclear negotiators are meeting for a second day Friday in Shenyang, China for a six-party working group on North Korea’s denuclearization.

Nuclear envoys of the two Koreas, the United States, China, Russia and Japan will continue to seek a consensus on measures regarding North Korea's nuclear disablement under the February 13th six-party agreement.

On Thursday, the U.S. envoy Christopher Hill said that U.S. and North Korean experts will discuss on Friday Pyongyang’s suspected uranium enrichment program.

Hill told reporters that experts from the two countries met Thursday on the sidelines of the working group meeting and would hold further discussions within 24 hours.

He also said the North had reaffirmed its commitment to fulfill its obligations under the February agreement.

Hill stressed that the six-party working group would find a common definition for North Korea's nuclear disablement.
