'N.Korea Confirms Commitment to Summit'

Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung says North Korea has confirmed its commitment and will to hold an inter-Korean summit.

Pyongyang asked for a delay in the summit Friday, citing urgent work for flood damage relief.

Minister Lee said relief work is more urgent for North Korea right now, given the severe flood damage there.

He also ruled out changes to the agreed procedures and summit agenda.

Seoul has rescheduled the summit to October 2-4, and Lee said the postponement will allow more time to better prepare.

He said South Korea will also send emergency relief supplies by land to the North Korean border city of Gaesong.
