'Flooding Destroys Pyongyang-Gaesong Roads'

Severe flooding in North Korea has reportedly destroyed parts of roads connecting Pyongyang and Gaesong, which are to be used for President Roh Moo-hyun’s trip to Pyongyang in October for inter-Korean summit talks.

A Pyongyang official told the North’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Tuesday that sections of the Pyongyang-Gaesong highway have caved in, disrupting normal traffic.

The official reportedly said that the North Korean government is doing its utmost to restore the main roads including the Pyongyang-Gaesong highway.
