KBS World Radio's Korean Section to Celebrate 50th Anniv.

KBS World Radio's Korean language section will celebrate its 50th anniversary on September second.

Since first airing under the name of “Voice of Free Korea” in 1957, the Korean section has delivered news from home to some seven million Koreans living overseas.

The Korean section plans to air from September first a weeklong special program on the past 70 years of forced emigration of Koreans to countries around the world.

Korean section producer Lee Hae-ok says she and her colleagues will strive to develop content that embraces new media, allowing listeners to, as she put it, "watch" radio programs online.
