NK Official Thanks S. Korea for Flood Aid

A North Korean official has thanked South Korea for providing aid for flood victims in the communist country.

North Korean official Oh Kwang-shik, who heads the Dandong, China office of his country's National Economic Cooperation Federation, told reporters that aid goods sent by a South Korean Christian organization had been delivered to the North via the Chinese border city.

Asked about the flood situation in the North, the official said that Pyongyang and some other parts of his country had been hit by 600 to 700 millimeters of rain, sustaining tremendous flood damage.
