The government and businesspeople have begun their final bid for Yeosu's bid to host the 2012 World Expo before the vote on November 27th.
Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Kang Moo-hyun will depart Sunday on a week-long visit to four member countries of the International Exhibitions Bureau the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Iceland.
Yeosu is a port city on the country's southwestern coast.
Top business executives including Korea Line Corporation Chairman Lee Jin-mang are part of the minister's delegation.
Hyundai Motor Chairman Chung Mong-koo is also in Europe to drum up support for the bid. He is serving as honorary chairman of the Yeosu bid committee.
Hyundai-Kia Motor is running a separate office in Paris for the bid to attract support through its global network.
Other conglomerate chairmen promoting Yeosu's campaign in the Middle East and Africa include Kim Jae-chul of the Dongwon Group, Hur Dong-soo of GS Caltex and Park Sam-koo of Kumho Asiana.
