The government will send an advance team to North Korea on September 25th, a week before inter-Korean summit talks slated for October second through fourth in Pyongyang.
Vice Unification Minister Lee Kwan-se told a regular news briefing Thursday that discussions on security and protocol arrangements are under way through contacts between South and North Korean liaison officers and exchanges of documents.
Lee added that the advance team will visit the North to check the conditions of transportation, roads and bridges.
He also said that Seoul is working on the composition of its 150-member summit delegation, which will comprise official and special delegates as well as ordinary citizens.
Noting also that there were 24 special delegates for the first inter-Korean summit in 2000, the vice minister said that the government is considering including figures from a broader spectrum of society for the second, hinting that the number could increase.
