More than 20 Koreans are still missing from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
The Korean Consulate General in New York said 22 ethnic Koreans still remain unaccounted for as of Thursday morning Korean time. Officials in Seoul say the number could change as time passes.
The number is much smaller than the 36 the Foreign Ministry in Seoul announced earlier.
The Foreign Ministry is trying to establish the exact number of missing Koreans.
The consulate-general in New York is trying to confirm the nationality of three people with Korean names who were taken to St. Vincent Hospital and two others who were aboard the American Airlines flight that crashed into one of the World Trade Center's twin towers.
