The suicide attacks on New York and Washington are taking a toll on South Korea's exports.
According to the Korean International Trade Association, the nation is losing 30 million dollars a day in air-freight exports due to the suspension of U.S.-bound flights.
The hardest-hit products are semi-conductors, personal computer parts, and mobile phone handsets.
The United States accounts for about 22 percent of Korea's total exports, of which electronics products, including chips, make up more than 84 percent. Total exports by air to the United States amounted to six point two billion dollars in the first-half of this year.
Millions of dollars of chip shipments have been piling up at Incheon International Airport since cargo flights to the United States were cancelled.
Several Korean Air and Asiana Airlines cargo planes remain in Canada and Mexico after being diverted from the United States.
U.S. airports reopened Wednesday but operations are limited to planes that had been diverted from their flight paths during the attack.
