NK to Ban Foreigners' Entry Ahead of S-N Summit

North Korea will likely block its borders and ban the entry of foreigners as early as next week as it prepares for the inter-Korean summit in early October.

According to a source in Shenyang, China, North Korean authorities are mulling a total ban on
visits by foreigners around next Tuesday.

The source added that Pyongyang could change the timing of the border closure depending on its internal situation.

An official at a South Korean nongovernmental aid organization who has just returned from the North said he heard that Pyongyang will bar entry to South Koreans and other foreigners from next Thursday to prepare for the summit.

The official also said that the Shenyang Taoxian International Airport in China will announce the North Korean ban.
