Korean Air said Friday it would suspend its flight service between Incheon and Cairo if the United States launches an attack on Afghanistan.
If retaliatory strikes are launched while a KAL plane is flying the Incheon-Cairo route, the plane will return to either Incheon or Cairo or detour over the Indian Ocean and fly on to its destination. Korean Air flys two weekly flights on the route Mondays and Thursdays.
Concerning its flight from Incheon to Frankfurt via Tashkent, Kazakhstan, the company said it will readjust the flight service depending on the situation even though the route is 740 kilometers away from the northern border of Afghanistan.
