S. Korea Informs NK of Summit Advance Party

The government on Friday sent to North Korea a list of officials who will visit Pyongyang to prepare for the second inter-Korean summit scheduled for October second to fourth.

Seoul's Unification Ministry said that the list includes an advance party of 35 officials and a second group of 34.

The first group, to be led by Vice Unification Minister Lee Kwan-se, consists of working-level officials from the presidential office and the Unification Ministry specializing in protocol, security, telecommunications and media relations.

The first advance party will visit Pyongyang for four days beginning Tuesday, and will discuss with North Korean officials the summit schedule and make on-site surveys of the summit venue, lodging facilities and other places the South Korean summit delegation will visit.
