The South Korean Embassy in Pakistan on Friday began emergency operations for the safety of ethnic Koreans here following the U.S. administration's moves to retaliate against Afghanistan's Taliban authorities.
An embassy official said...the embassy has already evacuated and found shelter for ethnic Koreans residing near the border separating Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He said they began emergency operations after mapping out safety measures for the Korean residents.
The official added...as of now, Afghanistan is officially void of Koreans, and the number of Korean residents in Pakistan stands just above 300.
Meanwhile, some American businessmen in northern Pakistan are relocating to safer zones, while flights out of Islamabad are fully booked.
