Koreans leave Pakistan ahead of possible U.S. attack on Kabul

With the possibility of U.S. military action against Afghanistan growing, South Korean citizens in Pakistan began evacuating the country last weekend.
According to the Korean Embassy in Karachi Monday, 20 Korean residents returned home Saturday, 13 followed on Sunday and many more are expected to follow suit soon.
Kim Seung-kook; head of the association of Korean residents in Pakistan said that most Koreans in Karachi plan to leave Pakistan as soon as they obtain flight tickets. He said more than half the 330 Koreans residing in Karachi are expected to leave for Seoul by this weekend.
Most passengers are using the Lahore-Bangkok-Seoul, Karachi-Bangkok-Seoul and Karachi-Beijing-Seoul air routes.
Meanwhile, there are no reports of Koreans residing in Afghanistan.
