Advance Team Preparing Summit in Pyongyang

The government’s advance team for the inter-Korean summit is busy making arrangements for the October summit in Pyongyang following its arrival in the North Korean capital on Tuesday.

The group headed by Vice Unification Minister Lee Kwan-se on Wednesday inspected the summit venues and accommodations as well as potential sites to be visited by the South Korean delegation.

The 35-member team is also holding consultations with North Korean officials on the itinerary for President Roh Moo-hyun and his entourage along with arrangements for protocol, security, telecommunications and media relations.

The advance team will return home Friday. Another advance team will leave for the North on September 28th.
