President Kim purchases tickets for WC tournaments

President Kim Dae-jung and first lady Lee Hee-ho on Monday bought tickets for 2002 World Cup soccer games at the Kwanghwamun post office.
The tickets purchased were for two first round matches at Seoul and Incheon stadiums.
Culture-Tourism Minister Kim Han-gill and Chung Mong-joon chairman of the Korean World Cup Organizing Committee (KOWOC) welcomed the president and the first lady at the post office.
President Kim also put his name on a signboard hoping for the country's successful hosting of the international soccer festival and encouraged South Koreans to purchase World Cup tickets.
KOWOC will sell 390,000 tickets until Oct. 31 at branch offices of Housing & Commercial Bank and post offices beginning Monday.
