Korea, Japan to Promote Tourism Exchanges in '08

The government agreed with Japan on Friday to promote tourism exchanges in 2008 as part of the Korea-Japan Tourism Exchange Year.

Culture and Tourism Minister Kim Jong-min met with Japanese Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Tesuzo Fuyushiba Friday in Tokyo, agreeing to implement exchange programs on a regular basis.

The officials also agreed to promote tourism themselves and to boost youth and local government exchanges, while jointly developing tourism products for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

The two countries have implemented a variety of projects to promote tourism exchanges since 2005.
