Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung says North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has expressed thanks to President Roh Moo-hyun for his message of condolence for the victims of the latest flooding in the North.

After a meeting of an inter-Korean summit preparation task force Saturday, Lee said the North Korean leader sent a verbal message, expressing thanks for Mr. Roh's August 20th letter of condolence.
