Korean Air (KAL) on Tuesday said it has decided to temporarily cancel its flight service to the Middle East ahead of possible U.S. reprisals against Afghanistan's Taliban government.
A KAL official said that the decision will ground the KE951 service to Cairo via Dubai on Thursday morning, adding that his company is currently notifying passengers of the cancelation.
Flight KE951 is the nation's sole service to the Middle East and flies Mondays and Thursdays, passing through Pakistani airspace near the border of Afghanistan.
