The government may propose to North Korea the setting up of a joint standing body on arms reduction at the inter-Korean summit next week, as the North is likely to suggest a reduction of conventional weapons.

A government source said that the defense ministers of the two countries will discuss details on establishing such a body if leaders of the South and North agree on the proposal.
