Koreas Agree on Roh's Border Crossing

South and North Korea have agreed to allow President Roh Moo-hyun to walk across the heavily fortified border during his overland trip to Pyongyang for the inter-Korean summit.

In a meeting with ranking ministry officials in Seoul Sunday, Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung confirmed the agreement, saying the president will be accompanied by 13 delegates at the historic moment.

Lee said Roh's walk across the border will pave the way for establishing a permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Lee also dismissed criticism by civic groups of Roh's plan to watch North Korea's Mass Games. He said South Korea's second advance team for the summit watched the gymnastics show Saturday but found no sensitive content.
