GNP Urges 'Constitutional' Summit Talks

Grand National Party Floor Leader Ahn Sang-soo says that all negotiations at the inter-Korean summit must be within constitutional boundaries and that the South Korean public must be allowed to review any major promises to the North.

In a party meeting Tuesday, he said that, for instance, giving in to Pyongyang's call to redraw the Northern Limit Line would be tantamount to giving up South Korea's territorial rights.

He also noted that 12 organizations have rejected government orders to remove pro-North Korean postings from their Web sites, and declared that groups who threaten national security under the cover of the summit must be dealt with sternly according to law.
