Presidential spokesman Cheon Ho-seon says President Roh Moo-hyun had frank and sufficient discussions at two rounds of summit talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and that the president is satisfied with the talks.
Cheon said the results of the summit talks will be announced on Thursday morning.
He said the summit talks covered almost all topics the government has prepared, ranging from a Korean peace regime, economic cooperation to reconciliation and exchanges.
The spokesman said the two leaders could reach an agreement earlier than expected because they have approached the talks with a positive attitude. He also cited Mr. Roh's thorough preparations for the second inter-Korean summit.
After the summit talks, Mr. Roh viewed the Arirang Festival, a mass gymnastic and artistic performance at the May First Stadium. The event was followed by a dinner he hosted for summit delegations from the two sides at People's Palace of Culture on Wednesday night.
