NY Phil to Perform in NK

The New York Philharmonic Orchestra has reportedly accepted North Korea's invitation to play in Pyongyang.

Sources in Washington say that the orchestra agreed to a concert in Pyongyang and is currently working out details for the schedule.

The orchestra will send a preparatory team to the communist state Saturday for talks with North Korean officials. The team is known to include a State Department official.

The concert could be realized as early as this year and is expected to spur further cultural exchanges between the North and the U.S.
